Braking distance

One needs to know when to stop in traffic... else there is a definite risk of banging into someone or something. Most motorists of the day... simply don't understand braking distance... and driving is all about speeding!

Agreed... speed is what gives the thrill to being on the road... but then again as rightly quoted on every driving license in the country... "Driving is a priviledge, not a right". It is quite surpising that we have all the right laws with us... and most of it is universally accepted in principle, yet there is so much of wrong around us.

So... the next time you decide to speed on the roads... make sure you know what it takes for your vehicle to stop... keep safe braking distance, and drive safely!

Hope, Belief and the Theory of Everything...

I know this would sound eerie... but I would like to propose this theory. I am of the opinion that everything in this world is related... in more ways than we can possibly imagine. And... most things... rather everything can be done or undone if enough people believe in it.

I witnessed a perfect example of this today.... as India is on the verge of loosing out the third test to Pakistan. The rot started yesterday when Pakistan put up a massive 500+ runs and laid the foundation of a massive lead. AK, a friend of mine, was the first to pronounce that we are going to loose. My reaction was quite rude and furious... I said that he should chop off his tongue!!!

And then at work... the only discussion in the cafetaria was how long we would be able to hold on... most of my colleagues had resigned to the fate that we are going to loose the match.

Then just after two wickets were down... AM another good friend of mine changed her nick on MSN... she added that only the rains can save the Indian team in Pakistan... or something that meant the same. I pinged her and cried foul... She took the hint and changed her nick... but I sensed that she too had resigned for the day.

At this moment... I could hear all alarm bells ringing... it became quite evident to me that we wanted to loose this match... though that was something I couldn't accept. Anyways... I reached out to my love... she is one of the few people who can work miracles for me. She said we could save the match... and I was thrilled... a draw was a miracle... and it was something I could settle for... but that was not to happen... as before I could even type a smiley... she blurted but then we might even loose! And that put me down... how could she do it... I could not believe what I was reading....

Anyways... so here is my theory... I believe that if a whole lot of us believe in something to happen... it would happen... we have lost nine wickets as I type this and Pakis are just a wicket away from victory. Yet the headline on rediff says Yuvraj hits 100!!! That is optimism... and I need it!
