Why do we tolerate this?

"Indian-run global cyber drugstore busted in US" screams the headlines of HT... supposedly the newspaper (if you wish to call it that) that according to them, Indians are to look forward for news. Bah!

The front page, which carries an article with the aforementioned headline... claims that the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) arrested a physician based in Agra for the alleged sale of controlled drugs. These drugs also include Viagra among others. The crime... a physician in Agra sells these drugs to other retailers, and all of these purchases could be made with just a valid credit card.

There are two things that disturbed me the most.... firstly what right does the US DEA have to arrest a person from Agra?

Secondly, why is this news item, supposedly penned by some "S Rajagopalan" from Washington, on the front page of the Hindustan Times?

All of this stinks of a bullying act by the U.S of A on nations that have a competitive advantage
over them when it comes to a world of free trade!

Whats more... this also is a classic case of "India-Bashing" which of late has become the favourite pastime of the English language media in the country.

Civilization under threat!

I was apalled by a recent article that featured on the front page of the Hindustan Times (a newspaper worse than the "Slimes of India"). Infact it was only the HT that chose to put up this article... and that in itself speaks volumes of its derogatory nature.

The Article quoted that a Supreme Court Bench ( the judges weren't named) sought the Government at the Centre and Government of Delhi to review Article 377 of the Constitution. Further the article went onto inform that Article 377 is the law that makes homosexuality illegal in the country.

The Supreme Court was acting under a litigation (I have no idea if it was a Public Interest Litigation... for I see no public interest in this) filed by the Naz Foundation.

Now... I think... the Naz Foundation despite what it does for people who are HIV+ or who suffer from AIDS, should be banned in the country for it stand up for the rights of homosexuals. Also... the Supreme Court Judges who dared to attack our civilization must be forced to retire... and they shouldn't be given any privileges whatsoever that are otherwise reserved for retired judges. Also... we need a law rather a sub-clause to Article 377 allowing the law enforcement agencies to curb any mention of this in the mass media. What I mean is ceritificates awarded to movies such as Fire, Page 3, Kal Ho Na Ho, My Brother Nikhil should be withdrawn until the makers of these movies approve off cutting the objectionable scenes.
